Distance sorting is a ranking method that uses a combination of advanced algorithms, and the result shows a percentage of how much has changed when comparing the search term and the result hit:

This new sorting method does not alter the actual results set that you have in your report (which are produced by the original Markify algorithm that you have in ProSearch under the "Advanced similarity" option ), it just reranks them according to the number of edits that are applied.

So the difference between the new Distance sorting and the original Risk levels is that the first measures the change, and the second one statistically measures how often this type of change leads to a conflict.

After performing a search,  you can now see three sorting options within the trademark column header:

Relevance is Markify original Risk Level approach that is used by default, and if you click on "Distance", a new column with percentages will be displayed:

Please note that within the same percentage ranking, results are sorted alphabetically.

On the screenshot above, you can see that ACCELA, ACCELO and ACCELS all have the same percentage because of having just one edit compared to the searched term, but are displayed in this exact sequence because it is alphabetical.

Displaying the Distance ranking column can be optional - it will appear only if you sort by distance as shown above.

Or, if you would like it to always be displayed for your searches, you can click the Visibility link and tick the necessary column:
