Identical plus is a search mode in ProSearch that allows retrieving identical and nearly identical results, applying spelling normalization, and covering multiple word results that include the search term.
You will see a detailed explanation of the applied strategy at the question mark icon (?) to the right:
And the full description is also available below:
ProSearch Identical Plus search mode allows retrieving:
- strictly identical alphanumeric matches, also covering English plural forms (regular/irregular) and an exact spelling used in word combinations
E.g. search for "POWERUP" returns such terms as POWERUP, P O W E R U P, POWER UP, POWER UPS, POWER UP PLUS, POWER YOUR DAY WITH US UP, etc.
At the same time, our Identical search does not retrieve compounds (e.g. POWERUPBAND) or word combinations where parts of the search term are split into separate elements (e.g. POW ERUPTION).
- searched words using the same letter characters while disregarding special symbols and characters (whitespaces, hyphens, dots, pluses, etc)
E.g. search for "POWERUP" returns such terms as POWER-UP, BD.POWER UP+, P.O.W.E.R.U.P, etc.
- multiple word search returns all listed words regardless of their sequence in the result
E.g. phrases search for "STAR ORION MAX" returns such terms as STAR ORION MAX, STAR MAX ORION, ORION STAR MAX, STARS ORION MAX, etc.
At the same time, our Identical search does not retrieve partial matches for phase searches (e.g. STAR ORION, ORION MAX, STAR MAX).
- stopwords are valid during searches
E.g. search for "CAT AND DOG" returns such terms as CAT AND DOG, TWO DOGS AND A CAT PET CLUB, DOG AND CAT INTERNAL MEDICINE, etc.
The sequence of displayed results depends on the term length as a primary factor, then on the number of singular matches, the number of plural matches, and then alphabetically.
